FINISHING THINGS - The Sun in Gate 42 #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

The Sun has now traveled to Gate 42, FINISHING THINGS or COMPLETION. In the I-Ching, this hexagram is called INCREASE.

This is the energy for, you guessed it, FINISHING THINGS. What it is not however is the energy for starting things. Tricky that. So someone with this energy defined without its counterpart, Gate 53, STARTING THINGS are better off when they respond to an existing situation where they can come in and COMPLETE the project. 

I can understand why there are multiple quotes from Neil Gaiman about FINISHING THINGS because he has the energy for STARTING THINGS but not FINISHING THINGS. No wonder it's on his mind. He has spent a lifetime trying to figure out how to FINISH THINGS. I can relate. 

Are you good at FINISHING THINGS? Are you a procrastinator? Do you have someone in your life that can swoop in and COMPLETE things with you? How does that make you feel? What narrative have you created around the concept of FINISHING THINGS? Do you see yourself as someone who never FINISHES what they start? Is that bad? Why? Who assigned that label onto you? Do you feel anxiety and pressure when things aren’t FINISHED? Why? What is the worst thing that could happen if you don’t FINISH what’s on your plate right this minute? What are some jobs that you can think of where you have the opportunity to COMPLETE what has already been started?

Wouldn’t it be wonderful for an individual with the energy for STARTING THINGS to partner up with someone with the energy for FINISHING THINGS? Do you see how those puzzle pieces fit together?

Shock - The Sun in Gate 51 #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

The sun has now moved into Gate 51, SHOCK or AROUSING. In the I-Ching this hexagram is also called THE AROUSING.

This is the energy of the shaman who goes through a difficult trial to SHOCK themselves into a spiritual awakening. Because ultimately it is about attaining spiritual wisdom. 

Now if someone with this definition is not expressing any interest in spirit in their life, SHOCKING experiences may become a repeating theme until they are forced into that spiritual awakening.

On the lighter side, many people with this energy defined like to be a little shocking. They enjoy it. This is also highly competitive energy which can be experienced by others being competitive with them or being competitive themselves. 

Bette Davis was defined by the Sun in Gate 51 and she embodied the energy of SHOCKING people with her bold choices. Plus her competitive spirit was legendary. I find it impossible to not also mention that Joan Crawford was defined by Mercury in Gate 51 as well.         

What do you find SHOCKING? Do you love or hate a surprise? Are you a practical joker? Are you competitive? Or does the idea of competition make you want to hide in a corner? Is that bad? Do you have someone in your life that loves nothing more than a SHOCKING practical joke? Is that OK? Have you had SHOCKING experiences in your life? How did you handle it? Did it open you up to trusting the universe or shut you down? Did the way you look at life change? Why? What does shamanistic experience mean to you? What does spirituality mean to you? How does it play out in your life? Would you like to tap into spirit? Is it possible to trust the universe?

THE TREASURER - The Sun in Gate 21 - #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

The Sun has now traveled to Gate 21, THE TREASURER or CONTROL. In I-Ching, this hexagram is called BITING THROUGH. 

This is the energy for CONTROLLING resources so that we have what we need when we need it.

CONTROL is definitely part of the theme and it can play out as being overly CONTROLLING or it can play out as being CONTROLLED. The goal really is to find that balance in the middle and to understand the need for being in CONTROL can either come from a place of lack or a place of abundance. If it is coming from a place of lack, there can be a compulsive need to be in CONTROL to feel safe.

This energy is not intended to be directed towards our loved ones by the way. It is simply a wonderful skill that should be directed in a healthy manner towards protecting resources, not people.

If this week is your birthday and CONTROL is defined by the Sun at the time of your birth, embrace this talent for what it is. You are the ultimate TREASURER, taking care of the resources for the good of the many. That is a beautiful, necessary thing for humanity.

This is a great time to think about the theme of CONTROL plays out in your life. Are you good with money? Why not? Do you see the big picture and the need to CONTROL your resources for the future? How can you accomplish this for you and your loved ones?

OPINIONS - The Sun in Gate 17 #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

The Sun now moves into Gate 17, OPINIONS. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called FOLLOWING. 

This is the energy for OPINIONS which are simply IDEAS are they not? You see, this energy is quick to form an OPINION about a matter and it can sometime be difficult to understand that this OPINION is meant to be fluid. Really, in the moment, it is simply an impression. But people with this energy defined can get themselves into trouble if they think, 'nope, this is my initial OPINION and I'm sticking with it!'

OPINIONS are fantastic but this is energy from the mind after all. There is no way to truly know if the OPINION is correct until we have had the opportunity to tap into our inner AUTHORITY which is never located in the mind.

Even so, an OPINION is just the beginning of the experiment. Altering the experiment to fit the OPINION misses the point entirely. 

And of course I really should mention one really should wait for right timing to share their OPINIONS. This is what we call projected energy in Human Design, which means wait for an invitation to share please. Otherwise, the person on the other end is hearing your OPINION whether they want to or not. You can see how there might be built in resistance to that scenario.

Do you tend to be absolutely certain about your OPINIONS? How do you react when a person has an OPINION different from yours? Are you open to discussion? Why not? Does your immediate HOT TAKE tend to bear out? Are you open to new information? Do you then change your OPINION? How does it feel when you encounter OPINIONATED folks? Do you tend to shut down around OPINIONATED people? Why? What would happen if you offered your OPINION? Do you take longer than others to form an OPINION? Is that bad?   

Everyone is entitled to an OPINION. As long as we understand it may be just the beginning of the conversation. 

LOVE OF SPIRIT - The Sun in Gate 25 #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

The Sun now moves into Gate 25, LOVE OF SPIRIT, also known as ACCEPTANCE. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called INNOCENCE.

This is the energy of LOVE, plain and simple. When someone has this energy defined they are LOVE. This is not something that can be explained or taught. It just is and when you are in the presence of this aura, you feel love. There is also a life long lesson with this energy of letting go and ACCEPTING SPIRIT.

Maybe this is why this energy is so healing to others. People with this energy are natural healers and they quite literally heal others with LOVE.

It is so very difficult for people with this energy defined to witness cruelty. It is a shock to their INNOCENT nature and truly wounds them. But all they can do in response is embody LOVE. Others will either pick up on that energy or they won't. Which ties into the life long lesson of letting go and ACCEPTING that LOVE OF SPIRIT will prevail.

While this energy is transiting, think about how LOVING you are on a day to day basis. Do you approach strangers with the same LOVE in your heart you give to your LOVED ones? If not, why not? Do you in fact regularly approach your LOVED ones with LOVE in your heart? If not, what can you do to make this more of a habit? If we all made more of an effort to go about our daily lives with more LOVE in our heart, what could we accomplish as a collective?

Spring Has Sprung #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

Spring has sprung! I will take this change of season as an opportunity to discuss the other transits happening from March 1 through May 31, 2019.

Saturn is in gate 54, DRIVE or AMBITION until August. So the questions we must ask ourselves are as follows. Am I too AMBITIOUS or am I not AMBITIOUS enough? How is the theme of DRIVE and AMBITION getting in your way? There is an opportunity for a lesson to be learned here if we are open to it. What does DRIVE and AMBITION mean to you? Are they bad words or good words? Is it possible to find balance with how these concepts relate to our lives? Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to work on your relationship with DRIVE and AMBITION.

Jupiter enters Gate 11, IDEAS on March 8 and will remain there until May 15 when it returns to Gate 26, THE TRICKSTER. That hard work of coming to terms with your DRIVE or lack thereof could come to fruition here. If you work towards a healthy balanced DRIVE during this time you will be rewarded with a font of IDEAS. Isn’t that marvelous? Otherwise what else are you going to do with that energy for AMBITION? Gate 26, THE TRICKSTER will also provide the gift of selling those IDEAS along with a strong sense of what is true, again if you put in the work.

Finally, and I really do mean finally, Neptune will move into Gate 22, OPENNESS, on March 30th. I will personally find this to be a relief because for a very long time now Neptune has been in Gate 63, DOUBT. Which means all things spiritual and esoteric have been cast with the shadow of DOUBT. But with OPENNESS on the horizon what has contracted can now expand. This is an opportunity for us to get out of our heads and when we are in the mood, feel more OPEN to the GRACE of our spirituality. Spring will hopefully spring us back into the mood for expanding our spiritual horizons until of course September 22, 2019, when Neptune will fall back into Gate 63, DOUBT for a time. Don’t let this opportunity for expansive spiritual growth pass you by.

So get to work figuring out how DRIVE and AMBITION are getting in your way and then sell your wonderful IDEAS. In the meantime, don’t be afraid to OPEN yourself up to that deep well of spirituality. If you pay attention, it will guide you on the right path towards AMBITIOUS IDEAS that benefit us all. The truth will be revealed.

CRISIS - The Sun in Gate 36 - #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

The Sun now moves into Gate 36, CRISIS, also known as ADVENTURE or EXPLORING. In the I-Ching, this hexagram is called THE DARKENING OF THE LIGHT. 

This is the energy for continually seeking new experiences, searching for that next ADVENTURE. The often lifelong lesson with this energy is to wait for clarity before jumping into that new experience. If not, the situation can easily become that new CRISIS. 

It is so difficult to tell someone with this energy defined to wait though. Many are almost pathologically afraid of being bored. But with wisdom, often earned the hard way, someone with this energy defined will come to appreciate the importance of waiting for clarity. But oh the ADVENTURE they will have along the way! 

There is also an innate desire here for mastery which can be a tricky thing if one is constantly dropping this to try that. That resistance and avoidance of an inkling of boredom can get in the way. This is not to say that someone with this energy defined is not accomplished. Experience is hard earned and that counts for something.

Are you constantly jumping into new fires without considering the consequences? Is that bad? Is it possible to wait for clarity? Are you afraid of boredom? Is it possible to not be bored if you stick with something? Do you quickly tire of new experiences? Are you a thrill seeker? Does that mean you’re brave or thoughtless? What is enough? Or do you resist the unknown? What would happen if you tried something you've never had the guts to try before? What can you do going forward to push yourself just a little bit out of your comfort zone? Is it OK to not push yourself out of your comfort zone and be happy with where you are?

For the record, I really admire my ADVENTUROUS friends. I am also OK with the fact that I’m not so enamored with change.

OPENNESS - The Sun in Gate 22 - #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

The Sun has now moved into Gate 22, OPENNESS. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called GRACE. 

This is an emotional, creative, sometimes dramatic energy that under the right circumstances embodies charm and GRACE. Depending on their mood, people with this energy defined can be the most charming and GRACEFUL person at a party or they can be the most DISGRACEFUL.

At its essence however, the purpose of this energy is to express the beauty from within and inspire others with its OPENNESS. This is the highest expression.

When I think of this energy, I think of Holly Golightly from Breakfast At Tiffany's. She is the most charming, enchanting, GRACEFUL, whirlwind of a character until she is not. But what a wonderful ride.

If you need to charm the pants off of someone, say you are trying to raise funds for a worthy cause for example, go find yourself someone with Gate 22 prominently located on their chart to do it for you. OR, if you happen to have this energy defined yourself you lucky duck, go ahead and charm away. Just please make sure you are in the mood.

Timing is everything and just like all Individual, Emotional energy there is a high point to this OPENNESS and GRACE, and a low point after all. Pay attention to your mood and politely decline that fabulous invitation if you don't feel up to being the life of the party. These things cannot be forced.

Are you the life of the party? Do you know how to turn on the charm? Does it depend on your mood? Do you have someone in your life who is amazing one day and simply not the next? Does that bother you? Are you hard on yourself when you cannot rise to the occasion? Is it possible to respect the wave? Why not? Are you OPEN to sharing who you are with others? How does this spark your creativity? Do you feel like a failure when the creativity is simply not there? Do you not love when the wave of creativity strikes? How can you tap into your creativity on a more regular basis? Is that something you even want or need? Is that OK?

Have fun with the energy for GRACE and OPENNESS during this time but also think about how patient you are in general with yourself or others who are emotionally defined. If they are not in the mood, don't judge them, accept them. You really cannot expect them to bounce back and fake it. It is simply not correct or even possible. 

But when they are in the mood, prepare to enjoy the experience of getting your pants charmed off. 

DOUBT - The Sun in Gate 63 - #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

From March 2 through March 7th, 2019, the Sun now moves into Gate 63, DOUBT, also known as QUESTIONING. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called AFTER COMPLETION.

On the one hand this is the energy of the ultimate critical thinker. Logic dictates we QUESTION the validity of a concept until we can definitively prove it in a practical manner. This is a good thing. If ever we needed critical thinking, it is now. 

On the other hand there can be a tendency with this energy for people to get locked into a cycle of SELF DOUBT, which is not good. This gift of the Doubting Thomas is simply not meant to be directed at oneself or at one's loved ones. This energy is not intended to paralyze us with SELF DOUBT and it is for sure not intended for us to DOUBT the people we love. 

But if this energy is directed in a positive way, it is an imperative part of humanity. This is the energy for the scientific method. 

So while DOUBT is transiting, take this time to remind yourself what it means to be a critical thinker. What is the source? Where is the evidence? What exactly is the difference between something called fake news and an actual falsehood? What is news and what is propaganda? How can we know for sure? 

Are you giving your friends and family the benefit of the DOUBT they deserve? How can you trust them more and QUESTION them less? Can you see how being perpetually DOUBTED by someone you love can degrade the trust in a relationship? 

Are you giving yourself the credit you deserve? How can you have more faith in your own abilities? What if you actually do know what you're doing? Have you thought of that?

QUESTION everything but have faith in you and yours.  

FRIENDSHIP - The Sun in Gate 37 #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

From February 25 through March 1, 2019, the Sun has now moved into Gate 37, FRIENDSHIP or HARMONY. In I-Ching, this hexagram is called THE FAMILY.

This energy is about keeping the peace or striving towards HARMONY. It is part of the Channel called THE BARGAIN, so there is also an element of BARGAINING FOR PEACE and HARMONY.

As someone with this energy defined I have a history of doing everything I can to keep my relationships harmonious. Sometimes to my detriment in that expectations were set very high as a result. Meaning, an unspoken bargain was made, unbeknownst to me, where the people in my life expected me to perpetually drop everything and acquiesce to their needs. Add to that, this energy is defined by Mars in line 5 in my chart, meaning people unconsciously project their idealized idea of what FRIENDSHIP should be onto me and well, yeah. I have experienced some very confusing and vexing situations surrounding my FRIENDSHIPS in the past. Much to my distress. Because believe me all I ever wanted was to keep things HARMONIOUS.

It is a lot of responsibility to live up to things that are not always clear to me. But what I now know is that I have to be clear with my boundaries and communicate as best I can with the people I care about so that I'm clear about what they expect from me and what I expect from them.  

While this energy is transiting, take the time to gauge the health of your relationships. Are things HARMONIOUS? What can you do to bring more HARMONY and peace to your life? What does FRIENDSHIP mean to you? What do you expect from your FRIENDS? What do they expect from you? 

On a larger scale, what can we do as individuals to promote HARMONY in this tumultuous climate? How can we extend our hands in FRIENDSHIP to those with opposing views rather than push them away in judgment and distrust? All things to ponder with the energy of FRIENDSHIP and HARMONY in transit during this week.

SPIRIT - The Sun in Gate 55 - #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

From February 19 through February 24, the Sun is transiting Gate 55 SPIRIT. In I-Ching this hexagram is called ABUNDANCE.

This energy is about trusting that the universe will provide. 

A tricky pickle this. We are raised to believe we create our own wealth and abundance through hard work and determination. Trusting in SPIRIT however means letting go and allowing the abundance of the universe to provide what we need, when we need it.

Or not. As with all energy in the chart the keynote is a theme and in this case, ABUNDANCE is the theme whether it means totally lacking trust in SPIRIT and always scraping by OR trusting in SPIRIT to provide and appreciating the ABUNDANCE ever present in this life. This is the particular lesson someone with SPIRIT defined in their chart needs to learn. Because when they truly trust in SPIRIT, ABUNDANCE is magnetically drawn to them.

Easier said than done. SPIRIT you say? Many of us struggle with that concept alone. But no matter what you believe in, whether it be SPIRIT, GOD, the UNIVERSE, or CHAOS THEORY; for your own sanity you really must have faith that things will somehow work out for the best. Otherwise, why get up in the morning?

This Gate teaches us we will be rewarded for that faith.

So while this energy is transiting, use this opportunity to take stock of what you have and what you need and ask yourself, "am I trusting that things will work out? Or am I white knuckling my life, grasping at what I want, and feeling unlucky all the time?" Think about or meditate this week on the concept we really must give up the idea we have control and simply have faith in SPIRIT. What will happen if you just let go? What will happen if we recognize and appreciate what we already have?

Whatever emotions come up, allow that. This is Solar Plexus energy after all. Just please entertain the feeling that there really is plenty of ABUNDANCE to go around.

DESIRE - The Sun in Gate 30 - #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

From February 14 through February 18, the Sun has now moved into GATE 30, DESIRE, also known as INTENSITY. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called CLINGING FIRE.

People with this energy are very INTENSE and it INTENSIFIES everything else in their chart. This is emotional, creative, passionate energy at its heart so it is very important to wait for correct timing and clarity. Otherwise these INTENSE individuals can not only burn themselves out but also the people around them.

OK, I'm just going to take a moment to talk to you Gate 30 folks. I happen to love people who are INTENSE, passionate, and full of DESIRE. What amazing qualities! But without an awareness of right timing, the people around you might find the energy off putting and then you'll feel weird and they'll feel weird and well, aw jeeze. 

That said, this gate is part of the channel of FANTASY & DESIRE which is some pretty potent, sexy energy under the right circumstances. I have the Gate of FANTASY so I'm excited to have this channel activated as a theme during this transit.

Can we just take a moment to be amazed by the impeccable timing of the Human Design Mandala? Just in time for Valentine's Day here in the United States, we have the energy at our fingertips to experience INTENSITY and DESIRE. How perfect is that for bringing sexy back?

Valentine’s Day aside, what does the concept of DESIRE mean to you in your every day life? Do you generally experience things in an INTENSE way? How does that make you feel? Do you sometimes come on too strong? Is it possible to take a moment to read the room before you react? Do you have someone in your life that is a bit too much? Why? Do you love that about them? Is it hard for you to allow yourself to truly DESIRE the things you want? Why? Do you find having a strong DESIRE for what you want helps you or hinders you in obtaining it? Why? Is it bad to not let anything deter you from getting what you DESIRE?

Is it not a beautiful gift to have an INTENSITY that other people could only hope to approach? Is it not something to admire?

REVOLUTION - The Sun in Gate 49 - #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

From February 8 through February 13 the Sun is in the Gate 49, REVOLUTION or PRINCIPLES. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called REVOLUTION.

This is the energy to determine the PRINCIPLES of intimacy and if those PRINCIPLES are crossed, the result will be a REVOLUTION. Gate 49 is part of the Channel of LOVE & MARRIAGE and it is indeed wonderful energy for marriage if, and that is a big if, each partner holds up their end of the PRINCIPLES defined in the relationship.

Someone with this energy defined takes their vows very seriously. So seriously in fact if their partner fails to keep those vows, they will walk away from the relationship without a second thought. Hence the term REVOLUTION. This is why this gate is also lovingly called the DIVORCE gate. Keep in mind, often once the REVOLUTIONARY act has taken place, there is no turning back.

If you have this energy defined or if someone you love has this energy defined, it is imperative that the PRINCIPLES of the relationship are clearly defined and that both partners fully understand the terms. Do both parties understand the ramifications if these PRINCIPLES are not kept? 

I suppose it is healthy after this period of intimacy shared while the sun transited in Gate 19 and in Gate 13 that strong boundaries and PRINCIPLES are now determined for the relationship. Now is the time for determining the terms of what is acceptable and not acceptable in order to maintain the wonderful trust and intimacy that has been established.

Have you established clear PRINCIPLES for your relationships? What is acceptable behavior for you and what is not? What are the deal breakers? Do you effectively communicate these terms to your loved ones? Does your partner seem baffled when you are fed up with their actions? Do you find yourself in trouble with your loved ones and you are not clear why? What PRINCIPLES have you crossed? Have you asked them?

If you have a history of suddenly walking away from important relationships you might find it helpful to take stock. How clear were you with your expectations? Did they have any clue? After all, no game is fair unless everyone knows the rules.

But if they did know the rules, all’s fair. Walking away is indeed a REVOLUTIONARY act of self care.

THE LISTENER - The Sun in Gate 13 - #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

Starting February 2 through 7, the sun has moved into Gate 13, THE LISTENER. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called THE FELLOWSHIP OF MAN. 

This is the energy for creating the space for other people's stories. At its best, this energy also intuitively provides the direction people need in the process. THE LISTENER doesn't have much choice in the matter really. People find themselves compelled to share their innermost thoughts with a person who has this energy defined.  

I have this energy defined in my chart and this is a phenomena that has happened to me all my life. I'm that person at a party who finds themselves in a corner with a new acquaintance, listening to their most private secrets. I've had strangers tell me about being abused by their boyfriends. I've had strangers confess their confusion about their sexual preferences. I'm that person sitting at a bar listening to the bartender's problems and giving them advice. In these moments I try to do my best to show compassion and to help talk them through their confusion or pain. It isn't something I seek out or request. It just seems to happen. Of course for me it is unconscious energy in line 2 so the energy is often pulled out of me. Folks with conscious definition might knowingly seek this out. They are instinctively aware of the sanctity of people’s stories.

In fact, I could see this energy being very helpful for the reporter who is seeking to record people’s stories for prosperity. This is the gift of THE LISTENER. 

Do people feel compelled to share with you? Is that good? Is that bad? Why not? Do you feel drained by other people’s stories? Do other people’s stories fill you with energy? Is there someone in your life with whom you tell everything? Why? Do you trust them? Why? Is it because they hold space for your story? Do you like LISTENING to people? Do you lack the patience to LISTEN to other people? How can you be more open to experiencing what other people are going through? Should you? Why not? Are we not here on this earth to be heard? By whom?

Who is willing to LISTEN?

WANTING -The Sun in Gate 19 - #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

Starting January 28 through February 1, the Sun has now moved into Gate 19, WANTING, also known as INTIMACY. In I-Ching, this hexagram is called APPROACH.

This energy is highly SENSITIVE on every level. SENSITIVE to touch, SENSITIVE to energy, and SENSITIVE to feelings. Most importantly, people with this energy defined are highly SENSITIVE to other people's needs. They can truly experience real INTIMACY with other people. Or not. The theme is played out either way.   

Many people with this energy defined also have very SENSITIVE skin. Think The Princess and the Pea. People with this energy defined are often extremely SENSITIVE children who are crushed by a stern word directed at them or anyone else. A light hand is necessary for these SENSITIVE souls. Seriously, a little goes a long way with these folks. They may also have a great affinity for animals and find them very comforting.

Has anyone ever told you to stop being so SENSITIVE? How did that make you feel? Is being SENSITIVE a sign of weakness? Does trying to toughen someone up work? Do you take pride in seeming tough when inside you’re raw and vulnerable? How does that work for you? Is being SENSITIVE to other people’s needs a bad thing? Is it a good thing? Why not? Is it a sign of strength to allow yourself to be SENSITIVE? Is it possible that SENSITIVITY to the environment and the people around you is a gift? How can this gift be of use to you and others? What if being vulnerable creates the opportunity for connection? Is it possible to allow yourself to be SENSITIVE to other people's needs as well as your own? Is it possible to protect yourself at the same time in a balanced way?

From January 22 through 27 the sun will be in Gate 41, FANTASY, also known as IMAGINATION. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called DECREASE. 

Gate 41 marks the start of the Human Design year.

People with FANTASY defined in their chart may find themselves lost in various versions of their life and they sometimes fail to mention these scenarios to the other people involved. Needless to say hilarity ensues. That said, they also find themselves to be the object of someone else's FANTASY because all of these energies really do go both ways.

These individuals have the unique ability to creatively IMAGINE various outcomes in their lives. But people with this energy defined should be careful to not act on these FANTASIES. It's important to sit back and wait for right timing. The FANTASY seems very real and actionable but it is internal thought and therefore not privy to most people’s authority. The very act of IMAGINING however can energetically create the opportunities they seek.

What does this mean for you? Well isn't it also grand to now have access to the power for FANTASY when you are thinking about the new year? Allow yourself to really go there in your mind and IMAGINE all the various outcomes of your choices right now. Let your mind go wild and then simply relax and let it go. This just might draw some pretty spectacular opportunities your way.

ACCEPTANCE - The Sun in Gate 60 ACCEPTANCE #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

From January 17 through January 21 the Sun has now moved into Gate 60, ACCEPTANCE or RESOURCEFULNESS. In the I-Ching this energy is called LIMITATION.  

There is a bit of a mixed message with this energy. On one hand, it is coming from a place of holding on to old ways of doing things. On the other hand, this energy does want to innovate. It is indeed mutative. But only in a way that is respectful to the old ways and carries the wisdom of why the old ways work. So in a way it is ACCEPTING the LIMITS of the traditional foundation in a RESOURCEFUL manner that moves toward innovation.

This is methodical innovation. In other words, don’t fix what isn’t broken; respectfully, methodically improve it.

People with this energy can be perceived as stuck in their ways and, without awareness, there can be a tendency to be a bit fixed about things. But this is the person who will be the voice of reason in the room when we enthusiastically want change for changes sake. They will hold the process back until they are sure the change is in fact necessary and is indeed an improvement.

Innovation is important, but one must be careful to first do no harm.

So what does this concept of ACCEPTANCE mean to you? Are you someone who hates change? Why? Do you strive for innovation in everything you do? Why not? How RESOURCEFUL are you when it comes to implementing change? Are you the type to throw everything out out the door and start completely over? How can you make things better in your every day life without walking away from it entirely?

Improvements are great. Just try not to throw the baby out with the bathwater!

MYSTERY - The Sun in Gate 61 - #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

From Friday, January 11 through Wednesday, January 16, 2019, the Sun has now moved into Gate 61, MYSTERY, also known as WONDER. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called INNER TRUTH.

This is the energy for thinking about the great MYSTERIES of the universe. People who have this energy defined in their birth chart are often fascinated by the occult; generally anything unknowable. Located at the very top of the chart in the center where inspiration resides, the Gate of MYSTERY is seeking the answers to why we are here. Divine inspiration resides in the Head Center. One can certainly entertain themselves for hours with these kinds of thoughts but whether or not they lead to anything definitive is another thing altogether; it is really beside the point. 

If someone with this energy thinks they are supposed to solve these great MYSTERIES, they could inevitably feel a sense of dejection or failure. They might feel a wee bit of melancholy due to some of the subject matter sure, but also due to the loneliness involved with being fascinated by the great MYSTERIES of life when the people around them are not. It is certainly not easy to be considered odd or strange by others. As with all projected energy, it helps to wait for the invitation to talk about these subjects. 

There is a knowingness to this energy that cannot be simply explained. There is no proof. But that is the point. There is no need for proof. There is indeed WONDER in that.

What does MYSTERY mean to you? Do you love the unknowable? Does the unknowable make you uncomfortable? Why? Do you prefer concrete subjects? Is that bad? Do the MYSTERIES of the universe fascinate you? Is that good? Do you believe in ghosts? Do you believe in subjects that are impossible to prove? What about God?

If you are not one of the lucky souls who have this compelling connection to all things MYSTERIOUS defined, now is the time to ponder what the universe has in store for us. Allow yourself to get lost in thought. Is there indeed a divine order to things? If so, what is the purpose of the current state of the world? What part, if any must we take in this narrative to help humanity?

DRIVE - The Sun in Gate 54 #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

From Sunday, January 6 through Thursday, January 10, 2019, the Sun is in Gate 54, DRIVE; also known as AMBITION. In I-Ching, this hexagram is called THE MARRYING MAIDEN.

People with AMBITION defined have a very potent part of the EGO Circuit in Human Design. This is the energy for doing whatever it takes to get ahead. This energy also has within it the aspiration to ascend to a singular vision. The MARRYING MAIDEN is known for MARRYING up.

To be perfectly honest I have a somewhat tenuous grasp on this energy. This kind of AMBITION and DRIVE is simply not in my design. There is a deep reluctance to disappoint myself (oh hey open ego center) and more importantly an outright refusal to be disappointed by others (oh hey line 4). In the past I have preferred to limit my expectations and find myself pleasantly surprised by life. It has actually worked pretty well for me. I think I intuitively knew that my journey has always been to respond to opportunities that present themselves to me. So AMBITIOUSLY planning my future felt fruitless.

Of course I now know that allowing myself to think about what I want (gulp) will actually magnetize the opportunity to me.    

Therefore I plan to take time in the next five days to actually think about, dare I say visualize what I want to accomplish during 2019. Hoo boy, just the word visualize is putting me off. That isn't in my chart either. Maybe I'll listen to music that inspires AMBITION within me and represents what I want. This should be fun.  

But how magical is it that we have access to DRIVE and AMBITION right at the beginning of the new year? As my teacher Karen Curry Parker is fond of saying (and I'm paraphrasing of course), we all have everything in the chart, both through our connections with other people and through the transits.

So I’m curious to know what does DRIVE and AMBITION mean to you? Is DRIVE good? Is AMBITION bad? Why? Do you admire AMBITION in others? Do you admire AMBITION in yourself? Why not? Is it OK to be AMBITIOUS for you and yours?     

What if you allowed yourself to really meditate on naked AMBITION for you and your family during the next 5 days? What would you discover? Better yet, what would you energetically draw to yourself if given the opportunity? 

Try allowing yourself to create an AMBITIOUS vision for 2019. Then sit back and see what opportunities present themselves to you and yours in the coming year (unless you're a Manifestor. If you're a Manifestor, just go do it).

THE FIGHTER - The Sun in Gate 38 - #HUMANDESIGN #ASTROLOGY #TRANSITS #ICHING

From Monday, December 31 to Saturday, January 5, 2019, the Sun now moves into Gate 38, THE FIGHTER. In the I-Ching this Hexagram is called OPPOSITION. 

In its highest expression, this is the energy for FIGHTING for honor. But of course it could also just be the energy to FIGHT. Many with this energy have trouble valuing something in their life if they have not fought tooth and nail for it. They are energized by the FIGHT.

Interesting that isn’t it? To be energized by the FIGHT. What an interesting gift. What would we do without those individuals who love a good FIGHT?

I invite you to consider how the theme of FIGHTING plays out in your life. Are you someone who is energized for the FIGHT? Why not? What is worth FIGHTING for? Are you prepared to FIGHT for your loved ones? Are you prepared to FIGHT for yourself? Why not? Does the thought of a FIGHT exhaust you? Does the thought of a FIGHT scare you? Does a FIGHT have to be considered a negative thing? When is the right time to put up a FIGHT? When is it wrong to FIGHT? How can we tell the difference?

So FIGHT for that last bit of energy to celebrate the New Year. Better yet, seize this opportunity to FIGHT for what is right for you and while you're at it, observe how the world doesn't collapse when you FIGHT for what you need. Maybe, just maybe, this will give you the experience and confidence to do a little more FIGHTING for yourself during the rest of the new year.  

Some things are worth the FIGHT.
