The Sun - Transiting Tuesday, September 4 Through Sunday, September 9, 2018 #HUMANDESIGN #ASTROLOGY #TRANSITS #ICHING

The Sun is now in Gate 64, CONFUSION, In the I-Ching this hexagram is called BEFORE COMPLETION. 

This energy has a direct connection to the the super consciousness. Huge concepts arrive out of nowhere and are, at least at first, impossible to fully understand or explain to others. There is a huge sense of inspiration but the thought is unformed because it is BEFORE COMPLETION.

Here is where faith comes in. Faith that over time our subconscious will slowly work whatever it is out. Faith that when the time is right all will become clear if it is meant to be clear. It is about relaxing and allowing the sense of it all to take form organically. Because the harder someone with this energy tries to make sense of it, the more CONFUSED they will become. 

I don't know about you but I've been feeling a bit unsure of myself and easily CONFUSED today. It's hard to say if this is due to the Sun's transit into Gate 64 but I can certainly choose to take this as an opportunity to make relaxing into the CONFUSION my priority. With an open Head there is always the possibility that I am feeling pressure to act on inspiration that is not my own; even more incentive to attempt to relax and wait to see if things become clear. 

There is a lot in the Human Design Chart that teaches us to wait; whether it be for an invitation, clarity, or an external sign. Waiting goes against how many of us were raised but the universe is set up to guide us along our path if, and that's a big if, we allow ourselves to trust it and be open to it. If we can relax and allow it to happen, the correct people and situations will be magnetically drawn to us and we will have the ability to know they represent the right path. 

Listen to me. As much as I prefer to keep these messages simple and understandable, I am unable to resist delving into the larger concepts whether I can explain them clearly or not. Not so simple when CONFUSION reigns.

What is not simple is gaining the patience and having the faith to trust that our path will be revealed to us. That's not simple at all. 

The energy of CONFUSION is designed to teach us how to relax and to allow the huge concepts to become clear over time. There is no room for impatience here. Allow yourself to be CONFUSED and let your mind wander. You might never be able to explain it to anyone else. That may or may not be the point.     

If you are meant to fully understand the download you will. In the meantime, enjoy the mental gymnastics. They can be super fun if you're not attached to the outcome. Oh my, there is another big concept, plop.

Oh, and try not to be frustrated if the people in your life are lost in their heads and not listening to you this week. It is understandable is it not? This is visual energy so step into their sight line and wave if you need their attention.    

The Sun - Transiting Wednesday, August 29 through Monday, September 3, 2018 #HUMANDESIGN #ASTROLOGY #TRANSITS #ICHING

The sun has now moved into Gate 40, LONELINESS. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called DELIVERANCE. 

This is the energy of LONELINESS in all its permutations. Someone with this energy defined certainly needs their alone time. It is quite necessary for their well being and also necessary for their unique process of DELIVERING results. 

But they also may feel very LONELY in general which in many cases drives them to reach out to others. This need to connect and resulting efforts to do so never quite shake the sense of LONELINESS however. So this energy may find themselves focusing on the lack of connection rather than the actual connection, often feeling the most LONELY with the people they love. No matter how much attention and love they get, they will feel ALONE. 

It is easy to blame others for this feeling. The reasoning being "If this person really did care about me I wouldn't still feel so ALONE." I have been on the other end of this energy. It is truly a helpless feeling when no matter what you do it is never enough to satisfy their sense of LONELINESS. You really feel like a failure. 

Awareness is key. I can appreciate now that it is not my fault when someone with this energy prominently defined in their chart is disappointed in my efforts at connecting. Alternatively, if you have this energy and are aware that this is simply who you are and not the direct result of someone else's behavior. Wow, what a difference that makes.

So if you are celebrating your birthday this week, give this some thought. It is OK to feel LONELY. It is a fundamental part of who you are. In your ALONENESS you are able to process and DELIVER amazing results in this world. Other people cannot make you feel any different for any length of time and it is not their fault. But DO continue to reach out and connect with them. This is also a fundamental part of who you are. It is in the seeking that transformation happens for all parties involved.  

As for the rest of us, how does LONELINESS play a part in your life? Do you avoid being ALONE at all costs? Why? Do you love being ALONE? Do you believe someone when they tell you and show you they care? Why not? Would you not want to join the club that would have you as it's member? Why not? Would it be possible to give the people in your life the benefit of the doubt and actually trust that they care?

This is also a truly wonderful period to take some time to yourself and self reflect. Revel in being ALONE if you can.

The Sun has now moved to Gate 59, SEXUALITY or INTIMACY. In the I-Ching, this hexagram is called DISPERSION.

This energy is all about connection. The keynote says it all. SEXUALITY is for sure at play here but I see it more as seeking connection. This energy wants to penetrate the auras around it, to truly experience INTIMACY. It is grasping towards the solar plexus, seeking creative INTIMACY.   

Gate 59 is unconsciously defined by three planets in my chart.  The Sun in line 4, Mercury in line 3, and Venus in line 3. I don't actually think of myself as a super sexual person. I like SEX, but I don't think I'm oozing SEXUALITY. Of course that perception is pretty classic for unconscious energy. In practice however I was actually very cautious about expressing my SEXUALITY; a classic "or not," scenario.  

But I do tend to value connected friendships. I'm not particularly comfortable with small talk. I prefer to go deep. There are other factors in my chart that create intense friendship bonds. But my tendency to penetrate the facade and connect definitely factors into this dynamic. In a way this also benefits my readings. I am comfortable with connecting with someone on a deeper level even if I have just met them.

So let me ask, what exactly does INTIMACY mean to you? What about SEXUALITY? Do you find it difficult to connect INTIMATELY with others? Or are you someone who prefers to connect with people on a deeper level? Are you uncomfortable when someone penetrates your space? Does it depend on the person? How does your SEXUALITY play out in your life? If you are having trouble connecting with someone you care about, this transit may help you feel closer. Or not.

But why not use this transit as an excuse to go deep?

I didn't mean that as a double entendre but I suppose you could go with that if you'd like.

The Sun - Transiting, Friday August 17 through Wednesday August 22, 2018 #HUMANDESIGN #ASTROLOGY #TRANSITS #ICHING

Adinkra: Commitment Perseverance. "I shall marry you."

Today the Sun has moved into Gate 29, PERSEVERANCE or COMMITMENT. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called THE ABYSMAL. 

This is the energy for fully COMMITTING and sticking to things for better or worse. The full channel (meaning this gate and the opposite gate defined) is often described as "succeeding where others fail." This is simply due to straight up PERSEVERANCE. People with this energy don't give up, or not.

As with all energies it goes both ways but is a theme in their lives regardless. The rebellious sort will refuse to COMMIT because deep down they know it will be very difficult for them to walk away.

The other side of this is over COMMITTING. Gate 29 is sometimes lovingly called "the gate of yes." It has a hard time saying no. Once people catch on to this personality trait, they will tend to take advantage. If unchecked, a person with this energy can over COMMIT themselves into poor health. Even the sacral defined person can burn out. It takes a lot, but it certainly does happen.

So I invite you to take this opportunity to meditate on how exactly COMMITMENT and PERSEVERANCE play out in your life. Do you avoid COMMITMENT? Why? Do you tend to say yes way too much and over extend yourself? How can you hold yourself responsible for establishing boundaries? Are you the type to PERSEVERE no matter what? If not, is that a bad thing? What will it take for you to stick to your COMMITMENTS?

Like all energies, too much or too little leads to imbalance. Be like Goldilocks and find your sweet spot.      

The Sun - Transiting Sunday, August 12 through Thursday, August 16, 2018 #HUMANDESIGN #ASTROLOGY #ICHING #CHAKRAS

The Sun has now moved into Gate 4, ANSWERS or MENTAL SOLUTIONS. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called YOUTHFUL FOLLY.

This is the energy for having the ANSWERS, whether they are accurate or not. Depending on whether the AJNA is undefined or defined it can also be pressure to be certain of that ANSWER even if it is just a guess.

Guess who had Gate 4 defined by the Sun at the time of her birth? Miss Cleo, famous for her Psychic Readers Network advertisements. Boy did she have the ANSWERS.

But so did Julia Child.

The thing is, I have absolutely no problem with turning to Miss Julia Child for the ANSWERS to any cooking question. Gate 4 in line 5, defined by the Sun may mean I'm projecting this on to her but I'm at peace with that.  

So this energy creates the need to have the ANSWERS. How we decide to approach this in our lives is up to us. Julia Child studied her craft. People were drawn to her for ANSWERS and I would imagine she felt the weight of that. Whether Miss Cleo did the same is up for debate. But I do not have any doubt she wanted to have the ANSWERS and did her share of investigating and experimenting with the ANSWERS as a 1/3 profile.

While this very interesting energy is transiting, I invite you to entertain the idea of having all the ANSWERS. What is your relationship to ANSWERS? Do you have all the ANSWERS? When a subject comes up during conversation are you quick to jump in with the ANSWERS? Are you sure you have the right ANSWER? Should you maybe look into things a little bit more before chiming in? Do people look to you for the ANSWERS? Do you hate it when someone has all the ANSWERS? Do you have trouble trusting yourself when you have the ANSWER? Why?

Thinking about the ANSWERS to the universe and searching for the ANSWERS is a wonderful thing; a truly admirable pursuit.

But critical thinking is imperative. Fake news is an excellent example of an ANSWER for ANSWER'S sake. But if you decide to call something fake news does that simple act make it inaccurate? If the news in question is actually, upon further investigation accurate but is repeatedly called fake, does it even qualify as news anymore? If something blatantly false is repeatedly referred to as the ANSWER does the repeating of it in fact make it news?

Perception is key isn't it? My ANSWER is different from your ANSWER. But what is the truth?

The Sun - Transiting Monday, August 6 through Saturday, August 11, 2018 #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

The Sun has now moved into Gate 7, SELF-IN INTERACTION or LEADERSHIP SUPPORT. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called THE ARMY. 

The energy of Gate 7 is all about supporting democratic LEADERSHIP. It can get itself into trouble however if this energy attempts to take the LEAD itself. It's understandable really because this energy instinctively knows what it takes to be a LEADER but energetically it is simply a non starter. Put this energy behind a true LEADER however and watch them take over the world!

In a true democracy LEADERSHIP absolutely needs support to be effective. Without that support, without its ARMY, it is utterly powerless. What a wonderful gift to be the fuel for excellent LEADERSHIP. To intuitively know and recognize the soul of a true leader and have the tools in your toolbox to help them succeed.  

I invite you to consider your role in this exchange. Are your democratic LEADERS flourishing or floundering? What if you stepped in to help and SUPPORT them? Do they deserve that SUPPORT? Are you a democratic LEADER in need of SUPPORT? How can you effectively hone yourself and your message so that people recognize your potential and join your ARMY?

Just the other day I found myself responding to requests for financial support in various political races across the country. I donated $5 here and $10 dollars there and setup up a couple recurring monthly donations. It's not much, but I am hopefully just one part of a wave of support.

This week in particular is a wonderful time to experiment with taking that first step towards actually putting yourself out there to physically SUPPORT a LEADER you believe in.

If it feels right, be the SUPPORT we all need for a better tomorrow.

The Sun - Transiting Tuesday, July 31 through Sunday, August 5, 2018 #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

The sun has now moved into Gate 33, PRIVACY. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called RETREAT. 

PRIVACY is the energy for holding on to the stories of the past and sharing them when the timing is right. This is the energy of the HISTORIAN.

Now some people with this energy defined may hold on to their own past in an unhealthy way. Repeating the same story over an over, making it their identity and holding on to resentments. But the lesson here is forgiveness; understanding the story is sacred and true and then letting it go when the timing is right.  

This can also be a lonely energy, for RETREAT is necessary at times to truly process the story and understand when it needs to be shared. It is an energy that is focused not only on its own story, but also the sacred stories of others that need to be shared for the lesson contained for us all.

 The historian recognizes that the past is the key to understanding the present.

So I invite you to ponder the story of your past. What are you holding on to that has already taught you the lesson to be learned? Is it possible to let it go now? If you have not processed the lesson, what can you do to fully address your story and forgive? Does it need to be shared to be released? Or is it possibly now time to stop rehashing it and reliving it? 

Our stories are what make us human. We all have one, two, or three of our own. But who would we be without our experience thus far? Is this wisdom not a blessing?

Now is also the time to look around and truly take in the stories of the people around us. What can we learn? Colin Kaepernick has this energy defined by the sun in his chart and he recognized the sacred importance of the various stories of black men being gunned down by law enforcement. He knew society needed to be reminded of these stories; that these stories from the past and the present need be part of the conversation. So he used his celebrity to bring it to the consciousness.

The Sun has now moved into Gate 31, DEMOCRACY. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called INFLUENCE.

This is the energy for DEMOCRATIC leadership. DEMOCRATIC leadership can be a bit tricky. Because someone with this energy defined knows they are a leader. But they will get themselves into trouble if they decide to start leading without getting buy in first. Meaning, this leader needs to be called out and elected into leadership. If not, people will resent this energy for taking over and telling them what to do. 

But, if the energetics are right and someone with this energy waits to be elected, they will receive very strong support. This is the energy for approaching leadership as a service. It is here to lead others in the manner that serves them and serves their interests. The key here is to INFLUENCE what people want and then deliver it the way they want it.  

So while this energy is transiting, I invite you to think about how leadership plays a role in your life. Are you a leader? Do people turn to you for direction? How do you approach leadership? Do you bully people into doing what you want them to do? OR do you wait for people to turn to you a ask for your direction? Do people embrace your leadership or reject it? 

Who are your leaders? Are they DEMOCRATIC? How do you support them?

The Sun has now moved into Gate 56, THE STORYTELLER. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called THE WANDERER. 

This is the energy for STORYTELLING. Someone with this energy defined in a prominent position in their chart loves to hear themselves talk and if they are not paying attention to how receptive their audience is, they may come off as a bit of a bore. But the thing is they are actually really talented at spinning a fantastic yarn. In fact they are wonderfully gifted teachers and can be great writers as well (but the telling of the STORY is what they love the most). The trick is to make sure your audience is receptive. For example, a teacher has a built in audience that is there specifically to hear their STORIES. Who doesn't love a teacher that tells an engrossing STORY. It is the best way to learn. On the other hand the wife who has listened to her Gate 56 husband regale their friends with same STORY a thousand times might want to pull her hair out. 

Again, this is what we call projected energy in Human Design. Which simply means it is energy that will be served best by waiting for an invitation. So if you're dying to tell that favorite STORY which applies just perfectly in the current situation, stop and ask your audience if they would like to hear it. Chances are they will say "sure," and be a much more receptive, appreciative crowd.

While this charming energy is transiting, you might find yourself on the receiving end of some true yarns. Instead of resisting because you didn't ask to hear it, why not adjust your state of mind and allow yourself to appreciate that clever use of metaphor? Be a good listener. You very well may find yourself immersed in the tale. If you have your own STORY to tell, now is the time to find that extra flair to truly do it justice. 

Embrace the STORY.

The Sun has now moved into Gate 62, DETAILS or PLANNING. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called PREPONDERANCE OF THE SMALL.

This is the energy for DETAILS. People who have this energy defined tend to be highly DETAILED and very organized, or not. If someone with this energy defined in a prominent position in their chart were to say to me "I'm not detailed or organized at all, my house is a mess!" I would say, "yeah, but you know where everything is right?" Because aware of it or not, they do take in every DETAIL. 

The low expression of this energy might entail being overly anxious and overwhelmed with the self inflicted responsibility for all the DETAILS. Or it can be expressed in a very nit-picky way that is somewhat overbearing about its insistence for precision. But the gift of this energy, the goal really, is a high level of impeccable precision; a true eye for the DETAILS.

So while this energy is in the air, why not take a stab at organizing your office or junk drawer? If you know this is not your strong suit (open spleen anyone?), this is a great time to hire that professional organizer to support the process. Because the energy for DETAILS and processing things in an organized way is here. Why not take advantage of it?  

Alternatively, I invite you to truly take in the DETAILS around you. Have you been overlooking anything or anyone in your life? What might have gone unnoticed may become clear to you now. Is it possible for you to put self-judgment aside and give it or them some well deserved attention now? 

Open your eyes. Take it all in. You might be surprised by what is revealed.

The Sun - Transiting Saturday, July 7 through Thursday, July 12, 2018 #HUMANDESIGN

The sun has now moved into Gate 53, STARTING THINGS, NEW BEGINNINGS, or THE STARTER. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called DEVELOPMENT. 

This is the energy for STARTING THINGS but not necessarily finishing them. It stems from the pulse energy of adrenaline. 

Now a lot of people really struggle to START things so someone with this energy is very valuable to have around. In fact it is a perfect example of how the puzzle of humanity is meant to work together. A partnership between two people who each have the energy to START THINGS or the energy to FINISH THINGS is a beautiful thing is it not? Human design teaches us we each have our special gifts. 

Now a word about that adrenaline pulse. Sometimes it is off. So if you have this energy defined understand that every once in a while the energy will simply not be there. This is a great time to listen to your body and take a break. The pulse will inevitably return, so enjoy the rest. Because soon enough you'll be off and running STARTING THINGS over and over again.

Truth be told, someone with this energy defined may find themselves with unfinished projects sitting all over the house. Because the fun here of course lies within the excitement of STARTING something. Please know this is OK and natural for this definition. Throw in a third line profile with it's need for experimentation to this mix and hoo boy will there be a trail of unfinished scorched earth behind them. 

But can you see how delightful this energy can be? Pay attention to the people in your life who have birthdays during this transit. They are really handy to have around when you find yourself simply unable to get a project off the ground. Invite them to collaborate with you in the initial stages with the understanding they will most likely not stick around to see it through. But that's not the point is it? They have contributed their gift. So be grateful. 

Alternatively, if you have this energy defined, recognize this gift for what it is and find a way to utilize it in a way that makes you and everyone else happy. You may not be the perfect Project Manager but you would certainly be dazzling at opening new accounts. Do you catch my drift?

For the rest of us, depending on your sensitivity to transits, take advantage of the extra boost of STARTING THINGS in the air to go ahead START that project you've been putting off for months. Also, I invite you to take this time to assess how the theme of STARTING THINGS plays out in your life. Do you find it really difficult to START THINGS in general? Do you START THINGS all the time and never finish them? Is it possible to not beat yourself up either way?

Again. we all have our gifts. Keep you eyes open for the people who compliment those gifts and collaborate. Or not. The point is our diversity of skills are the spice of this life. We all have our part to play.

The sun has now moved into Gate 39, PROVOCATION. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called OBSTRUCTION. 

This is a very PROVOCATIVE energy in many ways and it goes both ways. People feel poked and prodded by this energy, which is not always a comfortable feeling. It is a catalyst for stirring up emotions. Sometimes people with this energy find themselves baffled by the reaction they are getting from others. Or not, because every now and then they knowingly poke the bear. OR, on occasion they may actually feel irrationally PROVOKED by other people. Because all energies go both ways. 

Many people with this energy are highly creative and musically gifted, PROVOKING emotional responses in various creative ways. Frida Kahlo was defined by the sun in Gate 39.

As with all gates, there is the low expression of PROVOCATION as well. This can manifest as a fear of lack, whether that lack be materialistic or about the fundamental things we need to sustain ourselves. Someone with this energy might compulsively shop for food or clothes. An empty fridge can result in a panicky feeling of not having enough, not ever having enough. Hoarding could be an issue for the unaware. But the personal journey of this aspect of PROVOCATION is to find peace in the knowledge that the universe will provide whatever we need; to learn to trust in abundance that isn't forced.

Ultimately, this energy is meant to be the PROVOCATION for emotional and spiritual growth. 

So while the theme of PROVOCATION is in the air, why not consider exactly how this plays out in your life. Do you find yourself easily PROVOKED into anger or hurt feelings by the behavior or words of others? Do you unnecessarily poke and prod the people in your life and take pleasure in their discomfort? Or is it pleasure in their opportunity for growth? Is it possible to consider those moments when you are irrationally hurt or angry as opportunities to jump start your own personal growth? What is it exactly about that particular scab or OBSTRUCTION in your psyche that needs to be addressed and maybe even liberated? The people in your life who have this energy defined are here to bring that gift to you.

You may also see the energy of PROVOCATION playing out in the news. Lord knows, the current political climate is all about PROVOKING the other side. But why can't this tendency also be about PROVOKING an emotional or mental breakthrough to a higher consciousness for our society? An opportunity for growth? 

All of that said, PROVOCATION does not need to be this heavy. PROVOCATIVE energy can also be sexy and flirty. Think Jessica Rabbit and the multitude of double takes she garnered from her costars. Fun right? Maybe the best thing to do during this transit is to lighten things up and play a little. Get in touch with your inner vamp and give your partner a thrill. Or not.

I was going to say don't do anything I wouldn't do. But you do you boo. We all have our part to play.

The Sun - Transiting Monday, June 25 through Saturday, June 30, 2018. #HUMANDESIGN

The Sun has now moved into Gate 52, PERSPECTIVE, STILLNESS or THE MOUNTAIN. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called KEEPING STILL MOUNTAIN.

This is the energy to stop, be STILL, and see the whole picture; the proverbial forest for the trees. The lower expression of this energy of course can also mean sitting around doing nothing without focus. There is a reason it is sometimes lovingly referred to as the couch potato gate. But If you or someone you love is celebrating a birthday this week understand that STILLNESS is a gift, a true resource really. 

I think the timing couldn't be better really. We are not a society that promotes taking the time to stop and take stock of a situation. I have a friend who is covering the world cup and his job is literally to click "publish," on his reporting in the final minute of a game. Where is the PERSPECTIVE in that? Hot takes are de rigueur. The sooner you post your opinion on Twitter the more relevant you are to society. 

Of course this has created an unbelievable lack of PERSPECTIVE in how we view the world. Not to mention this lack of care has resulted in the truly painful awareness that people you admire just might say the most banal, uninformed, hurtful thing in their eagerness to stay relevant. It makes it a challenge to admire anyone in this day and age.

So I invite you to take the time during this transit to stop, look around, and ruminate on the true weight of things. Do people really need your hot take to find clarity? Does being clever for clever's sake help or hinder the current situation? Do you know enough to even have an opinion?

Use this time to take stock of your life. A quiet vacation away from the hustle and bustle would be ideal. In what ways are you truly blessed? What are your particular challenges? In the long run, what is serving you and your loved ones and what is not?

Of course in Human Design we do not encourage over thinking. To be clear, this energy is not about mental gymnastics. It is about developing an awareness based on the gift of STILLNESS. If you can, be STILL. Meditate. Clear the cobwebs and see what awareness comes to light.

Decisions can come later based on your authority. Try to allow yourself to gain some PERSPECTIVE during this time. Your world will be better for it.     

The Sun - Transiting Wednesday, June 20 through Sunday, June 24, 2018 #HUMANDESIGN

The Sun has now moved into Gate 15, EXTREMES or LOVE OF HUMANITY. In the I-Ching, this hexagram is called MODESTY. 

This is the energy for EXTREMES in rhythms and patterns. Try as one might to stick with a schedule, it can be quite the challenge for someone with this energy defined. In some ways this has to do with an internal connection to what is going on with nature, there is no denying that pull regardless of what is on the agenda for the day. This is the first week since I started this project that I haven't published my transit article on the first day. I wonder if that is a coincidence. 

Interestingly, no matter how low key someone with this energy defined attempts to be, people immediately notice them when they walk into the room. This is because they have a very large aura that is impossible to ignore. As a result many folks with this energy defined try to shrink themselves to no avail. Hence the hexagram, MODESTY. 

I have also heard this energy called the vortex. It is very easy to get caught up in the energy of someone with Gate 15. Whether that energy is expressing the high or low version of this energy it can be difficult not to get sucked in. At its best, I would like to think this vortex has the capacity for pulling people in to help HUMANITY.

Because this is the energy for the LOVE OF HUMANITY. Love for all who reside here on this planet. For better or worse. Without awareness one can lose track of their own well being when there is so much love for HUMANITY.  

I've been struggling with the LOVE OF HUMANITY this week. The news has been so difficult. The best advice I have ever heard in times like these is attributed to Mr. Rogers, "look for the helpers." That right there will go a long way in restoring your faith in HUMANITY. I saw a small fundraiser go from $5K on Sunday to $17.5M today because people are good and they want to help in any way they can.

So I invite you to reflect on your feelings towards HUMANITY. It is so easy to focus on the bad examples of what is happening in the world today but how can we have more faith in HUMANITY as a whole? Do you generally love HUMANITY or do you hold suspicion in your heart? How can you open your heart to be a force of love in this world?

On the other hand, are you someone who habitually puts others before yourself to a fault? What can you do to establish healthier boundaries? How can you show compassion and love to HUMANITY without losing yourself in the process?

These are strange times. But I keep coming back in my mind to the the role we each play in the puzzle of humanity. We each have an integral part to play. All I can do is strive to be the highest expression of myself I can manage and try be kind to the people around me. 

Small acts of kindness matter. They have to.

The sun has now moved into Gate 12, CAUTION or ROMANTIC. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called STANDSTILL. 

With the right timing, this is the energy of the creative, romantic wordsmith who has the potential to speak straight from source, or not. Because if the timing is wrong, this wonderful energy also has the potential to say the wrong thing and truly cause havoc. Hence the keynote CAUTION. One must be in the mood and in the flow to tap into their greatness. Either way, there is certainly an impact to be had whether it be positive or negative. But when it is positive, it is truly sublime. Joyce Carol Oates has this energy defined by the Sun at the time of her birth. 

Here is the thing, when someone with this energy gets into enough trouble enough times by blurting things out in the wrong way, they may find themselves at a STANDSTILL. Unable to gather the courage to put themselves out there again. But if they can develop the ability to recognize when they are in the right flow and when the energy around them is ready to receive that flow, they will be astounded by their own brilliance. Patience and awareness is key. 

So while we are on the subject, I invite you to think about how correct timing effects how you express yourself. None of us are immune to the phenomena of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. Has this happened to you? How did the reaction of others make you feel? CAUTIOUS? How can you be more aware of the people around you and how they may react to what you are inspired to say in the moment? On the other hand, how frustrating is it when you are called to express yourself when you are not at all in the right mood to flow?  

These things cannot be forced. Writer's block is a sign of wrong timing. Don't force it. Respect your natural creative flow both when it is there and when it is not there. Right timing is indeed connected to source.

Trust that and you will be amazed by what flows out of you as a gift for us all. 

The KING or QUEEN - The Sun in Gate 45 - #HUMANDESIGN #ASTROLOGY #TRANSITS #ICHING

Charles II King of England, Scotland, and Ireland, defined by the Sun in Gate 45.

The Sun has now moved into Gate 45, THE KING OR QUEEN OR CEO. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called GATHERING TOGETHER.

This is the natural leader but it is not necessarily the democratic leader, that is elsewhere in the chart. So this is the energy of someone who is in charge and not selected or appointed to that role, they just are. When you think of the archetype of the CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, think of Gate 45. This is the tribal energy for leadership. There is a bit of entitlement to this energy no doubt and it can go the way of dictatorship if its not careful but the highest expression is the benevolent energy for taking care of its people.

Two KINGS, one Czar, and one Emperor have Gate 45 defined by the Sun at the time of their birth. One Pope and one Cult Leader also have this definition. President George HW Bush has this definition as well. David Rockefeller also had Gate 45 defined by the sun in his chart. No less than 12 QUEENS, Princes, Princesses, Dukes, and Duchesses had this particular definition.  

In moments like these when I'm doing this kind of research I cannot help but shake my head and think, "wow Human Design, just wow."  

Our current President in the United States has Gate 45.5 defined by the North Node. Which means this energy is prominent and projected on to him in the later half of his life. You don't say. 

OK, so what does this mean for you and me this week? I invite you to reflect on how the theme of the KING/QUEEN/CEO plays out in your life. Are you a natural leader? If not, is that a bad thing? In what way do you support the leaders in your life? How have the leaders in your life treated you? Do you express what you need to your leaders? Do you hold them to a standard and let them know when you don't agree with them? 

If you are a natural leader, how can you be more thoughtful in how you deal with your subjects? That last bit was a joke but really, do you take your leadership position for granted? Do you have a tendency to spend too much money because you feel entitled to it? How can you be more aware of the needs of those around you? How can you also make sure you have the support you need to thoughtfully lead in a manner that is beneficial to all?

Let us hope our current leaders are asking themselves just that. If they are not, let us hold them to a higher standard.

The Sun - Transiting Saturday, June 2 through Thursday, June 7, 2018 #HUMANDESIGN

The Sun has now moved into Gate 35, CHANGE or APTITUDE. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called PROGRESS. 

This is the a very capable energy based in experience. It has been there, done that. So much so, that if one is not careful, the energy can go to a place of boredom and a lack of enthusiasm. An interesting and possibly logical transition from the energy of ENTHUSIASM prior to this transit. 

The person with this energy really can handle any challenge that comes their way. Over time and with enough experience, this confidence in their own capability is the natural result. But don't forget, this comes from gathering experiences so the person with this energy prominently defined in their chart will do just that, gather experiences. CHANGE is to be expected. Or not.  

This energy can also play out as a deep reluctance to experience boredom. So those experiences can become more and more extreme as a result. But fighting boredom is not really the point. Sure this energy craves CHANGE but It is truly about the wisdom one derives from a lifetime of experiences. It is about approaching life as an adventure and embracing CHANGE, not scrambling for the next new thing just to avoid boredom. 

As with all gates, we are playing with a theme here. So while this adventurous, capable energy is transiting, why not continue to play with the idea of trying new things yourself? Try to maintain that ENTHUSIASM from last week but enjoy the hopefully enriched sense that you can truly handle it. 

That said, how do you generally handle CHANGE in your life? Does it freak you out? Does it give you a spark of excitement? Is it possible to consider that you have the capacity to handle anything that comes your way? Do you believe that?  

Sometimes the only way to know for sure is to let go and allow yourself to have these new experiences. Not so easy for some of us but you just might find out how very capable you truly are.   

Transiting Sunday, May 27 through Friday, June 1 #HUMANDESIGN

This should be fun. The sun has now moved into Gate 16, SKILLS, ENTHUSIASM, TALENT or SELECTIVITY. In the I-Ching, this hexagram is called ENTHUSIASM. 

This is the energy for ENTHUSIASTICALLY jumping into something without necessarily having the knowledge or SKILL to back it up but often somehow making it work anyway through sheer natural TALENT. Fun right? Of course this energy can obviously get itself into trouble through wrong timing and lack of SKILL also. But this energy for ENTHUSIASM is rarely dampened for long by the occasional failure. 

Some compare this energy to The Fool in Tarot and I can see why. It is a willingness to step off a cliff without having any idea how things will turn out. It's about trusting you have the natural SKILL to make it work. I love that. I admire that.

As a 1/4 Profile with the unconscious Channel of Talent, I'm not always brave enough to trust in my natural talent. I tend to be more wrapped up in the opposite gate of the channel, DEPTH which never quite feels prepared enough to truly ENTHUSIASTICALLY act on new interests. Also, my unconscious Gate 16 is defined by Saturn, so my willingness to jump into new things and trust in my own abilities is an important lesson for me in this life. I'm working on that. Something to stew on this week while the topic is at hand for sure.

So, regardless of how sensitive you are to transits, I invite you to also consider how ENTHUSIASM factors into your life thematically this week.

Are you always jumping into new things with a wing and a prayer and yes, sometimes falling flat on your face? How can you bridle that energy somehow so that you can adequately prepare and truly succeed? Is it possible to stop, listen to your Authority and wait for right timing? Consider focusing on a little extra preparation this week. 

On the other hand, are you someone who is never willing to jump in and try something new because you automatically feel inadequate? How can you find the strength and bravery to go ahead and try it anyway? Would falling flat on your face really be that terrible after all? What's the worst that can happen? I invite you to try something new with very little investigation or practice this week. Go ahead and step off that cliff for once.

I highly recommend going to a roller skating rink to ENTHUSIASTICALLY fall flat on your butt, or not. It's a blast.

Sometimes the good time is worth a little bruise on your tuchus.  

Transiting Monday, May 21 through Saturday, May 26, 2018 #HUMANDESIGN

The Sun has now moved into Gate 20, METAMORPHOSIS, ANTICIPATION, THE NOW, or CHARISMA. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called CONTEMPLATION.

As you can see, there are a lot of keynotes and interpretations of this energy with good reason, it's complicated. This is the energy for having an awareness of THE NOW. It is also the energy for doing the right thing even when everyone else is not. It is about integrity, or not. Gate 20 is the energy for intuitively recognizing the skills of others and having that special ability of bringing the right people together at the right time for the right project. My teacher Karen Curry says it is "intuitive awareness to right action." I like that.

CONTEMPLATION is the physical expression of the Integration Circuit. Which may or may not look like what other people are doing and that's as it should be.

So yeah, there is a lot going on here which makes sense. It is part of the Channel of CHARISMA which is a very busy channel. In the right combination this is part of the archetype of the Manifesting Generator. 

Bob Dylan and Ralph Waldo Emerson both have METAMORPHOSIS defined by the sun at the time of their birth. Can you see how it could be argued that both were able to have an awareness of the beauty in this world as well as the not so beautiful in this world and how each were also compelled to express their innate integrity within their observations? If you have a birthday during this week, odds are this right here is a huge part of your personality.

As for the rest of us, during this transit I invite you to stop and CONTEMPLATE the themes of integrity and being present in THE NOW.

How does integrity play a part in your life? Do you live your life with integrity? Do you have a solid sense of what is right and what is wrong? If not, why not? How can you be more focused on right action? What is right action? If this sensibility comes easy to you, are you acting on this awareness of right action or are you just playing the observer? What can you do now to bring the right people together to act on this sense of integrity? Should you? 

Please also consider whether you focus on THE NOW in your life or are continually wrapped up in the past or the future. So many doctrines encourage us to focus on THE NOW. If all we can concentrate on is the future or the past how can we be present for our loved ones now or even have an awareness of the beauty of the present? Do you live your life in THE NOW? Why not? What can you do to be more present in your life NOW? 

For those of us with this energy defined, If we can just stop and take in the beauty of what is now, maybe just maybe there can be a METAMORPHOSIS into the person of integrity that we are meant to embody in this lifetime.

Transiting Tuesday, May 15 through Sunday, May 20, 2018 #HUMANDESIGN

The sun has now moved to Gate 8, CONTRIBUTION. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called HOLDING TOGETHER. 

This energy needs to make a CONTRIBUTION in this world. It's as simple as that. Not so simple when you feel like a cog in the wheel that isn't making any difference. Do you see the conundrum if the circumstances or opportunities aren't right? As with so much in Human Design right timing is everything. If given the opportunity this energy will make a difference and it has a deep drive to do just that. Collaboration can be the key to facilitate that opportunity. With the right people and the right energies this can be the individual circuit expression of productive change manifested. Make a CONTRIBUTION.

Not having the opportunity to make a CONTRIBUTION can weigh very heavily on people who have this energy defined. They truly need to feel like they are making a difference.

So while this energy for CONTRIBUTION is transiting, what can you do to make a CONTRIBUTION? If you're not getting that sense of CONTRIBUTION to the world at work (although I would argue you can do so with every enthusiastic task), what can you do in your spare time to feel like you are making a difference? Have you considered volunteering? If it's a creative CONTRIBUTION you desire, how can you be open to those kind of opportunities? How can you CONTRIBUTE to the well being of the people around you? I invite you to think about the theme of CONTRIBUTION in your life.

Whether we have this energy defined or not, most of us want to feel like we are here to make a difference. This can be the case on so many levels. Some people make a CONTRIBUTION to this world by raising their children with impeccable values. Others, make a CONTRIBUTION by fostering empathy through art. Others make a CONTRIBUTION by changing the face of technology. Others make a CONTRIBUTION by improving the quality of life for others in small ways every day. We are all different, on different paths, and all of this is valid and necessary. When we are true to our design, we are playing the role that is of most use to this world and we all have something to CONTRIBUTE.
