FRIENDSHIP - The Sun in Gate 37 #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

From February 25 through March 1, 2019, the Sun has now moved into Gate 37, FRIENDSHIP or HARMONY. In I-Ching, this hexagram is called THE FAMILY.

This energy is about keeping the peace or striving towards HARMONY. It is part of the Channel called THE BARGAIN, so there is also an element of BARGAINING FOR PEACE and HARMONY.

As someone with this energy defined I have a history of doing everything I can to keep my relationships harmonious. Sometimes to my detriment in that expectations were set very high as a result. Meaning, an unspoken bargain was made, unbeknownst to me, where the people in my life expected me to perpetually drop everything and acquiesce to their needs. Add to that, this energy is defined by Mars in line 5 in my chart, meaning people unconsciously project their idealized idea of what FRIENDSHIP should be onto me and well, yeah. I have experienced some very confusing and vexing situations surrounding my FRIENDSHIPS in the past. Much to my distress. Because believe me all I ever wanted was to keep things HARMONIOUS.

It is a lot of responsibility to live up to things that are not always clear to me. But what I now know is that I have to be clear with my boundaries and communicate as best I can with the people I care about so that I'm clear about what they expect from me and what I expect from them.  

While this energy is transiting, take the time to gauge the health of your relationships. Are things HARMONIOUS? What can you do to bring more HARMONY and peace to your life? What does FRIENDSHIP mean to you? What do you expect from your FRIENDS? What do they expect from you? 

On a larger scale, what can we do as individuals to promote HARMONY in this tumultuous climate? How can we extend our hands in FRIENDSHIP to those with opposing views rather than push them away in judgment and distrust? All things to ponder with the energy of FRIENDSHIP and HARMONY in transit during this week.

SPIRIT - The Sun in Gate 55 - #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

From February 19 through February 24, the Sun is transiting Gate 55 SPIRIT. In I-Ching this hexagram is called ABUNDANCE.

This energy is about trusting that the universe will provide. 

A tricky pickle this. We are raised to believe we create our own wealth and abundance through hard work and determination. Trusting in SPIRIT however means letting go and allowing the abundance of the universe to provide what we need, when we need it.

Or not. As with all energy in the chart the keynote is a theme and in this case, ABUNDANCE is the theme whether it means totally lacking trust in SPIRIT and always scraping by OR trusting in SPIRIT to provide and appreciating the ABUNDANCE ever present in this life. This is the particular lesson someone with SPIRIT defined in their chart needs to learn. Because when they truly trust in SPIRIT, ABUNDANCE is magnetically drawn to them.

Easier said than done. SPIRIT you say? Many of us struggle with that concept alone. But no matter what you believe in, whether it be SPIRIT, GOD, the UNIVERSE, or CHAOS THEORY; for your own sanity you really must have faith that things will somehow work out for the best. Otherwise, why get up in the morning?

This Gate teaches us we will be rewarded for that faith.

So while this energy is transiting, use this opportunity to take stock of what you have and what you need and ask yourself, "am I trusting that things will work out? Or am I white knuckling my life, grasping at what I want, and feeling unlucky all the time?" Think about or meditate this week on the concept we really must give up the idea we have control and simply have faith in SPIRIT. What will happen if you just let go? What will happen if we recognize and appreciate what we already have?

Whatever emotions come up, allow that. This is Solar Plexus energy after all. Just please entertain the feeling that there really is plenty of ABUNDANCE to go around.

DESIRE - The Sun in Gate 30 - #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

From February 14 through February 18, the Sun has now moved into GATE 30, DESIRE, also known as INTENSITY. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called CLINGING FIRE.

People with this energy are very INTENSE and it INTENSIFIES everything else in their chart. This is emotional, creative, passionate energy at its heart so it is very important to wait for correct timing and clarity. Otherwise these INTENSE individuals can not only burn themselves out but also the people around them.

OK, I'm just going to take a moment to talk to you Gate 30 folks. I happen to love people who are INTENSE, passionate, and full of DESIRE. What amazing qualities! But without an awareness of right timing, the people around you might find the energy off putting and then you'll feel weird and they'll feel weird and well, aw jeeze. 

That said, this gate is part of the channel of FANTASY & DESIRE which is some pretty potent, sexy energy under the right circumstances. I have the Gate of FANTASY so I'm excited to have this channel activated as a theme during this transit.

Can we just take a moment to be amazed by the impeccable timing of the Human Design Mandala? Just in time for Valentine's Day here in the United States, we have the energy at our fingertips to experience INTENSITY and DESIRE. How perfect is that for bringing sexy back?

Valentine’s Day aside, what does the concept of DESIRE mean to you in your every day life? Do you generally experience things in an INTENSE way? How does that make you feel? Do you sometimes come on too strong? Is it possible to take a moment to read the room before you react? Do you have someone in your life that is a bit too much? Why? Do you love that about them? Is it hard for you to allow yourself to truly DESIRE the things you want? Why? Do you find having a strong DESIRE for what you want helps you or hinders you in obtaining it? Why? Is it bad to not let anything deter you from getting what you DESIRE?

Is it not a beautiful gift to have an INTENSITY that other people could only hope to approach? Is it not something to admire?

REVOLUTION - The Sun in Gate 49 - #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

From February 8 through February 13 the Sun is in the Gate 49, REVOLUTION or PRINCIPLES. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called REVOLUTION.

This is the energy to determine the PRINCIPLES of intimacy and if those PRINCIPLES are crossed, the result will be a REVOLUTION. Gate 49 is part of the Channel of LOVE & MARRIAGE and it is indeed wonderful energy for marriage if, and that is a big if, each partner holds up their end of the PRINCIPLES defined in the relationship.

Someone with this energy defined takes their vows very seriously. So seriously in fact if their partner fails to keep those vows, they will walk away from the relationship without a second thought. Hence the term REVOLUTION. This is why this gate is also lovingly called the DIVORCE gate. Keep in mind, often once the REVOLUTIONARY act has taken place, there is no turning back.

If you have this energy defined or if someone you love has this energy defined, it is imperative that the PRINCIPLES of the relationship are clearly defined and that both partners fully understand the terms. Do both parties understand the ramifications if these PRINCIPLES are not kept? 

I suppose it is healthy after this period of intimacy shared while the sun transited in Gate 19 and in Gate 13 that strong boundaries and PRINCIPLES are now determined for the relationship. Now is the time for determining the terms of what is acceptable and not acceptable in order to maintain the wonderful trust and intimacy that has been established.

Have you established clear PRINCIPLES for your relationships? What is acceptable behavior for you and what is not? What are the deal breakers? Do you effectively communicate these terms to your loved ones? Does your partner seem baffled when you are fed up with their actions? Do you find yourself in trouble with your loved ones and you are not clear why? What PRINCIPLES have you crossed? Have you asked them?

If you have a history of suddenly walking away from important relationships you might find it helpful to take stock. How clear were you with your expectations? Did they have any clue? After all, no game is fair unless everyone knows the rules.

But if they did know the rules, all’s fair. Walking away is indeed a REVOLUTIONARY act of self care.

THE LISTENER - The Sun in Gate 13 - #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

Starting February 2 through 7, the sun has moved into Gate 13, THE LISTENER. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called THE FELLOWSHIP OF MAN. 

This is the energy for creating the space for other people's stories. At its best, this energy also intuitively provides the direction people need in the process. THE LISTENER doesn't have much choice in the matter really. People find themselves compelled to share their innermost thoughts with a person who has this energy defined.  

I have this energy defined in my chart and this is a phenomena that has happened to me all my life. I'm that person at a party who finds themselves in a corner with a new acquaintance, listening to their most private secrets. I've had strangers tell me about being abused by their boyfriends. I've had strangers confess their confusion about their sexual preferences. I'm that person sitting at a bar listening to the bartender's problems and giving them advice. In these moments I try to do my best to show compassion and to help talk them through their confusion or pain. It isn't something I seek out or request. It just seems to happen. Of course for me it is unconscious energy in line 2 so the energy is often pulled out of me. Folks with conscious definition might knowingly seek this out. They are instinctively aware of the sanctity of people’s stories.

In fact, I could see this energy being very helpful for the reporter who is seeking to record people’s stories for prosperity. This is the gift of THE LISTENER. 

Do people feel compelled to share with you? Is that good? Is that bad? Why not? Do you feel drained by other people’s stories? Do other people’s stories fill you with energy? Is there someone in your life with whom you tell everything? Why? Do you trust them? Why? Is it because they hold space for your story? Do you like LISTENING to people? Do you lack the patience to LISTEN to other people? How can you be more open to experiencing what other people are going through? Should you? Why not? Are we not here on this earth to be heard? By whom?

Who is willing to LISTEN?

WANTING -The Sun in Gate 19 - #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

Starting January 28 through February 1, the Sun has now moved into Gate 19, WANTING, also known as INTIMACY. In I-Ching, this hexagram is called APPROACH.

This energy is highly SENSITIVE on every level. SENSITIVE to touch, SENSITIVE to energy, and SENSITIVE to feelings. Most importantly, people with this energy defined are highly SENSITIVE to other people's needs. They can truly experience real INTIMACY with other people. Or not. The theme is played out either way.   

Many people with this energy defined also have very SENSITIVE skin. Think The Princess and the Pea. People with this energy defined are often extremely SENSITIVE children who are crushed by a stern word directed at them or anyone else. A light hand is necessary for these SENSITIVE souls. Seriously, a little goes a long way with these folks. They may also have a great affinity for animals and find them very comforting.

Has anyone ever told you to stop being so SENSITIVE? How did that make you feel? Is being SENSITIVE a sign of weakness? Does trying to toughen someone up work? Do you take pride in seeming tough when inside you’re raw and vulnerable? How does that work for you? Is being SENSITIVE to other people’s needs a bad thing? Is it a good thing? Why not? Is it a sign of strength to allow yourself to be SENSITIVE? Is it possible that SENSITIVITY to the environment and the people around you is a gift? How can this gift be of use to you and others? What if being vulnerable creates the opportunity for connection? Is it possible to allow yourself to be SENSITIVE to other people's needs as well as your own? Is it possible to protect yourself at the same time in a balanced way?

Why not embrace your inner snowflake and connect?         

FANTASY - The Sun in Gate 41 - #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

From January 22 through 27 the sun will be in Gate 41, FANTASY, also known as IMAGINATION. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called DECREASE. 

Gate 41 marks the start of the Human Design year.

People with FANTASY defined in their chart may find themselves lost in various versions of their life and they sometimes fail to mention these scenarios to the other people involved. Needless to say hilarity ensues. That said, they also find themselves to be the object of someone else's FANTASY because all of these energies really do go both ways.

These individuals have the unique ability to creatively IMAGINE various outcomes in their lives. But people with this energy defined should be careful to not act on these FANTASIES. It's important to sit back and wait for right timing. The FANTASY seems very real and actionable but it is internal thought and therefore not privy to most people’s authority. The very act of IMAGINING however can energetically create the opportunities they seek.

What does this mean for you? Well isn't it also grand to now have access to the power for FANTASY when you are thinking about the new year? Allow yourself to really go there in your mind and IMAGINE all the various outcomes of your choices right now. Let your mind go wild and then simply relax and let it go. This just might draw some pretty spectacular opportunities your way.

ACCEPTANCE - The Sun in Gate 60 ACCEPTANCE #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

From January 17 through January 21 the Sun has now moved into Gate 60, ACCEPTANCE or RESOURCEFULNESS. In the I-Ching this energy is called LIMITATION.  

There is a bit of a mixed message with this energy. On one hand, it is coming from a place of holding on to old ways of doing things. On the other hand, this energy does want to innovate. It is indeed mutative. But only in a way that is respectful to the old ways and carries the wisdom of why the old ways work. So in a way it is ACCEPTING the LIMITS of the traditional foundation in a RESOURCEFUL manner that moves toward innovation.

This is methodical innovation. In other words, don’t fix what isn’t broken; respectfully, methodically improve it.

People with this energy can be perceived as stuck in their ways and, without awareness, there can be a tendency to be a bit fixed about things. But this is the person who will be the voice of reason in the room when we enthusiastically want change for changes sake. They will hold the process back until they are sure the change is in fact necessary and is indeed an improvement.

Innovation is important, but one must be careful to first do no harm.

So what does this concept of ACCEPTANCE mean to you? Are you someone who hates change? Why? Do you strive for innovation in everything you do? Why not? How RESOURCEFUL are you when it comes to implementing change? Are you the type to throw everything out out the door and start completely over? Or are you able to ACCEPT the things that cannot change yet RESOURCEFULLY implement improvements? Does tradition make you feel safe? Does innovation make you feel unsafe? How can you make things better in your every day life without walking away from it entirely?

Improvements are great. Just try not to throw the baby out with the bathwater!

MYSTERY - The Sun in Gate 61 - #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

From Friday, January 11 through Wednesday, January 16, 2019, the Sun has now moved into Gate 61, MYSTERY, also known as WONDER. In the I-Ching this hexagram is called INNER TRUTH.

This is the energy for thinking about the great MYSTERIES of the universe. People who have this energy defined in their birth chart are often fascinated by the occult; generally anything unknowable. Located at the very top of the chart in the center where inspiration resides, the Gate of MYSTERY is seeking the answers to why we are here. Divine inspiration resides in the Head Center. One can certainly entertain themselves for hours with these kinds of thoughts but whether or not they lead to anything definitive is another thing altogether; it is really beside the point. 

If someone with this energy thinks they are supposed to solve these great MYSTERIES, they could inevitably feel a sense of dejection or failure. They might feel a wee bit of melancholy due to some of the subject matter sure, but also due to the loneliness involved with being fascinated by the great MYSTERIES of life when the people around them are not. It is certainly not easy to be considered odd or strange by others. As with all projected energy, it helps to wait for the invitation to talk about these subjects. 

There is a knowingness to this energy that cannot be simply explained. There is no proof. But that is the point. There is no need for proof. There is indeed WONDER in that.

What does MYSTERY mean to you? Do you love the unknowable? Does the unknowable make you uncomfortable? Why? Do you prefer concrete subjects? Is that bad? Do the MYSTERIES of the universe fascinate you? Is that good? Do you believe in ghosts? Do you believe in subjects that are impossible to prove? What about God?

If you are not one of the lucky souls who have this compelling connection to all things MYSTERIOUS defined, now is the time to ponder what the universe has in store for us. Allow yourself to get lost in thought. Is there indeed a divine order to things? If so, what is the purpose of the current state of the world? What part, if any must we take in this narrative to help humanity?

DRIVE - The Sun in Gate 54 #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

From Sunday, January 6 through Thursday, January 10, 2019, the Sun is in Gate 54, DRIVE; also known as AMBITION. In I-Ching, this hexagram is called THE MARRYING MAIDEN.

People with AMBITION defined have a very potent part of the EGO Circuit in Human Design. This is the energy for doing whatever it takes to get ahead. This energy also has within it the aspiration to ascend to a singular vision. The MARRYING MAIDEN is known for MARRYING up.

To be perfectly honest I have a somewhat tenuous grasp on this energy. This kind of AMBITION and DRIVE is simply not in my design. There is a deep reluctance to disappoint myself (oh hey open ego center) and more importantly an outright refusal to be disappointed by others (oh hey line 4). In the past I have preferred to limit my expectations and find myself pleasantly surprised by life. It has actually worked pretty well for me. I think I intuitively knew that my journey has always been to respond to opportunities that present themselves to me. So AMBITIOUSLY planning my future felt fruitless.

Of course I now know that allowing myself to think about what I want (gulp) will actually magnetize the opportunity to me.    

Therefore I plan to take time in the next five days to actually think about, dare I say visualize what I want to accomplish during 2019. Hoo boy, just the word visualize is putting me off. That isn't in my chart either. Maybe I'll listen to music that inspires AMBITION within me and represents what I want. This should be fun.  

But how magical is it that we have access to DRIVE and AMBITION right at the beginning of the new year? As my teacher Karen Curry Parker is fond of saying (and I'm paraphrasing of course), we all have everything in the chart, both through our connections with other people and through the transits.

So I’m curious to know what does DRIVE and AMBITION mean to you? Is DRIVE good? Is AMBITION bad? Why? Do you admire AMBITION in others? Do you admire AMBITION in yourself? Why not? Is it OK to be AMBITIOUS for you and yours?     

What if you allowed yourself to really meditate on naked AMBITION for you and your family during the next 5 days? What would you discover? Better yet, what would you energetically draw to yourself if given the opportunity? 

Try allowing yourself to create an AMBITIOUS vision for 2019. Then sit back and see what opportunities present themselves to you and yours in the coming year (unless you're a Manifestor. If you're a Manifestor, just go do it).

THE FIGHTER - The Sun in Gate 38 - #HUMANDESIGN #ASTROLOGY #TRANSITS #ICHING

From Monday, December 31 to Saturday, January 5, 2019, the Sun now moves into Gate 38, THE FIGHTER. In the I-Ching this Hexagram is called OPPOSITION. 

In its highest expression, this is the energy for FIGHTING for honor. But of course it could also just be the energy to FIGHT. Many with this energy have trouble valuing something in their life if they have not fought tooth and nail for it. They are energized by the FIGHT.

Interesting that isn’t it? To be energized by the FIGHT. What an interesting gift. What would we do without those individuals who love a good FIGHT?

I invite you to consider how the theme of FIGHTING plays out in your life. Are you someone who is energized for the FIGHT? Why not? What is worth FIGHTING for? Are you prepared to FIGHT for your loved ones? Are you prepared to FIGHT for yourself? Why not? Does the thought of a FIGHT exhaust you? Does the thought of a FIGHT scare you? Does a FIGHT have to be considered a negative thing? When is the right time to put up a FIGHT? When is it wrong to FIGHT? How can we tell the difference?

So FIGHT for that last bit of energy to celebrate the New Year. Better yet, seize this opportunity to FIGHT for what is right for you and while you're at it, observe how the world doesn't collapse when you FIGHT for what you need. Maybe, just maybe, this will give you the experience and confidence to do a little more FIGHTING for yourself during the rest of the new year.  

Some things are worth the FIGHT.

From Wednesday, December 26 through Sunday, December 30, 2018, the Sun will be in Gate 58, JOY. In the I-Ching this hexagram is also called JOY.

Here’s the thing. People either choose JOY or they do not and it is no different for those that have JOY defined in their charts. JOY is the theme either way. There is either JOY or a complete lack of JOY.

Are you someone who finds the JOY in each situation? How? Is the lack of JOY in your life situational or a choice? Do you focus on what’s JOYFUL or what’s lacking? Why? When things are imperfect is it possible to figure out what’s right? Why not?

When things are good do you allow yourself the space to feel JOY?

It's the Holidays for many of us. We are hopefully with our loved ones. As such we can either focus on imperfections, such as a ruined pie or an unpleasant political discussion, or we can bask in the true JOY of being in the presence of the people we love; warts and all. Shall we decide to feel JOY then? What do you say?

SELF LOVE - The Sun in Gate 10 #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

From Thursday, December 20 through Tuesday, December 25, 2018 the Sun has now moved into Gate 10, LOVE OF SELF or in I Ching, TREADING.

Located in the place where love resides on the chart, this energy is the LOVE of YOURSELF.

In our culture here in the United States, this can be a loaded concept. You can LOVE YOURSELF I guess but you can't be full of yourself. "Don't get a big head," is a notion drummed into us at an early age; at least when I was growing up. Many kids today are getting a different message which some people might question but I think it's great. Confidence goes a long way in our culture. Why not give your kid a leg up?

But I digress. This Gate of LOVE OF SELF is often called the BUDDHA gate. It is the embodiment of self empowerment in its best iteration. So much so, people around this energy will feel more empowered for having been in the presence of it. The highest expression of SELF LOVE is showing people, by example, how to love themselves. Isn't that marvelous?

Interesting side note. I have observed that many of my friends with this energy defined in their chart LOVE to take selfies and post them on social media. It’s wonderful to see their innate confidence and willingness to share themselves with the world. Little do they know that this embodiment of SELF LOVE is having a truly empowering affect on their audience.

The low expression of LOVE OF SELF is playing the victim and often blaming others for their own failings. Because anything that goes wrong could not possibly be their fault. Another expression of SELF LOVE. This is why Gate 10 can also be lovingly referred to as the blame gate.  If you find yourself doing this, stop and ask yourself, "does this person really deserve the blame here? Am I taking responsibility for what is mine?"  

Are you never ever wrong? How? Are you someone who puts themselves first always? Do you never put yourself first? Why? Do you take care of yourself? Do you treat YOURSELF with LOVE and respect? Do you give YOURSELF the same benefit of a doubt, LOVE, and compassion you give to others? Why not?   

As for those of us who celebrate Christmas, this is an interesting week for this energy to be transiting. Hopefully by now we have finished our Holiday shopping and can shift our attention to taking better care of ourselves while spending quality time with our loved ones. As much as we are raised to be selfless this week, the universe is reminding us to put ourselves first; to put the oxygen mask on first.

IDEAS - The Sun in Gate 11 - #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

From Saturday December 15 though Wednesday December 19 the Sun is in Gate 11, IDEAS. In I-Ching this hexagram is called PEACE.

So yes, this is the energy for having wonderful, brilliant, and OK fine maybe not so brilliant IDEAS.

What is interesting about this energy however is these IDEAS are most likely not for ourselves. There is no configuration here for making these IDEAS happen. Many people with this energy defined often feel like their IDEAS are stolen by other people. This can cause feelings of betrayal and bitterness but what they are failing to realize is this is exactly how the energy of IDEAS is supposed to work. 

So much of the Human Design chart reveals how we need each other to accomplish things in this world. With this particular energy we are meant to have an IDEA and if someone else with the right configuration responds to that idea, they are meant to act on it.

So if you have this energy defined in your chart, you may have some truly spectacular IDEAS. If you want those IDEAS to go anywhere, tell your IDEAS to anyone who is open to hearing them. Your mission if you choose to accept it is to pass the IDEA along. There is a timing piece to this as well. Maybe the the world isn’t quite ready for your brilliant IDEA. Or in order for someone to be open to hearing about your IDEA they need to invite you to share it. 

Are you someone who is full of scathingly brilliant IDEAS (100 points to the person who can name that movie)? Do these IDEAS ever pan out? Why? When someone comes to you with their IDEAS are you open to hearing about them? Why not? Do you feel like people steal your IDEAS? Is that truly the reality of the situation? Are all IDEAS created equal?

In a way, sharing your IDEAS with the right people is like casting a spell. What happens next is out of your control.  

THE TRICKSTER -The Sun in Gate 26 - #HUMANDESIGN #TRANSITS #ASTROLOGY #ICHING

From Sunday, December 9 through Friday, December 14, 2018 the sun will be in Gate 26, THE TRICKSTER, or ACCUMULATION. In I-Ching this hexagram is called THE TAMING POWER OF THE GREAT. 

This is the energy to close the sale; the impetus to say anything, do anything to finalize the deal.

OK I'm just going to go ahead and say it. THE TRICKSTER gets a bad rap, because it can be associated with lying and deception. This is the low expression of this energy of course. Our own president here in the United States has the moon in Gate 26 at the time of his birth. He is driven to close the sale, so to speak.  

On the other hand, many people with this energy are absolute champions of the truth. They intuitively know if they allow themselves to tell a white lie here or there, their grasp on the truth very well may be tenuous. So as a result they are brutally honest and downright appalled by dishonesty.

There's a happy medium here. This energy is placed in our chart for us to examine our own relationship with the truth. To master THE TRICKSTER, we must master integrity. How do we get what we need in this life without compromising our integrity?

THE TRICKSTER is tribal energy after all, so this energy actually comes from a place of providing for our loved ones. The motivation is pure. With that in mind, it's easy to rationalize a white lie here or there in order to feed our loved ones. But it is our responsibility to maintain our integrity while still providing for our loved ones.

Those of us with an undefined Solar Plexus can relate. We hate to upset people so we may skirt the truth here and there for self preservation.  

What is your relationship to the truth? Do you say what you need to say to get what you need? Is that OK? Why not? Do you tell white lies to avoid getting in trouble? Or are you someone who refuses to bend the truth under any circumstance? Is that OK? What does integrity mean to you? Is this something you need to work on or is the work done? Do the ends justify the means? Where do you draw the line?

Don’t forget that you need to love and respect yourself in the morning.

PATTERNS - The Sun in Gate 5 - #HUMANDESIGN #ASTROLOGY #TRANSITS #ICHING

From Tuesday, December 4 through Saturday, December 8, 2018, The Sun has moved into Gate 5, PATTERNS. In the I-Ching this Hexagram is called WAITING.

This energy is all about the rhythm of nature and the rhythm of our lives. It is the comfort of ritual; knowing that at certain times of the day, week, or year, certain things will happen and if this is so, all is right with the world.

The other side of this coin is being terribly thrown off if our coffee is not made exactly the same way, at the right time of our morning, and in the right spot. People with this energy defined simply need a consistent PATTERN to our daily life or we will feel off kilter and unsettled. Others, say someone with Gate 15 for example, may perceive this as strange. Worse, those of us with the energy may judge ourselves too harshly for the difficulty we experience in bouncing back from a disruption in our PATTERN. Some people with this energy dislike this tendency so much they refuse to maintain any PATTERN in their life at all. Can you see how either way this is a theme? Awareness is key.

The next time you are feeling anxious and unsettled and you don't understand why ask yourself, is my day or week off schedule? Maybe the simple answer is you need to correct course to the PATTERNS that comfort you. If returning to your routine is not an option, take a deep breath and create a new PATTERN for your current circumstance. For example, if I were out of town I might find it soothing during my trip to go to the same spot every morning to read the paper.    

Creating little rituals that we stick with every day or every week just may be the ultimate act of self care.         

Animals are this way naturally, they need their schedule, and those of us with this energy relate very well to the rhythm of our animals. We get it. The rhythm of nature feels right.

Do you need a consistent routine to feel normal? Is that good? Is it bad? Or does doing the same thing day in day out make you feel suffocated? Why? What daily ritual can you start today to honor your desire for PATTERNS? What can you do to shake things up? What rituals can you employ to honor your family and friends?

Does it bother you that your partner wants to do the same thing every night? Is it possible to honor that while implementing a PATTERN that has change baked in? Possibly date night every third Friday of the month where you try something different together?

I invite you to get cozy with your schedule this week. Witness how PATTERNS are an opportunity for comfort. Be present for the ritual of it. It is something concrete to hold on to during these strange times and also quite apropos during the Holiday Season.
